It is important for a fast-data infrastructure to provide efficient processing, aggregation, storage, and query for streaming data. Elevating this system to be a core operational technology of the enterprise, however, involves so much more. In this talk, I will explore important considerations that take a fast-data infrastructure from being yet another software platform, to being a critical infrastructure for operational intelligence. I will explore challenges related to time, change management, the incorporation of asset models from the business domain, and integration with other operational technologies. Addressing the challenges presented in this talk will make your fast-data infrastructure invaluable to your business.
